What the Mercor cricket job is
Mercor has run two kinds of cricket work for AI labs. The first is Cricket Fan, Live T20I Match AI Evaluator (India). During a live India T20 international, you ask AI assistants the questions a fan would ask and rate how accurate, helpful and well presented the answers are.
The second is Cricket Expert, for fans, journalists, commentators and former players. You watch games and grade AI written commentary and analysis for accuracy and insight.
Both listings are closed to new applications right now. Mercor sends cricket applicants to its Consumer and Lifestyle network instead, which covers sports and fitness along with other consumer topics. That network is open, and members are invited to new sports projects such as cricket evaluations when they start.
What the cricket jobs pay
The live T20I evaluator role paid $20 per task. Each task covered one match and took about 2 to 2.5 hours. The scheduled matches were India against West Indies on 9 October and India against Sri Lanka on 22 December.
The older Cricket Expert listing showed $8 to $66 an hour. The open Consumer and Lifestyle network lists $50 to $75 an hour, set for each project by its scope and depth. Mercor pays weekly through Stripe or Wise.
Some job sites copy these roles with very different numbers, such as $70 to $110 an hour for the live evaluator role. Trust only the figures on Mercor's own listing and in your contract.
Who can apply
- The live T20I role was for people in India who follow the Indian national team closely and know the rules, teams, players and T20 format well.
- The Cricket Expert role was for fans, sports journalists, commentators and former players.
- The open sports network asks for professional or deep practical experience in a consumer area, clear written English, and comfort with unclear tasks.
- Prior AI rating or evaluation experience helps. Mercor says it cannot support H-1B or STEM OPT candidates.
How to apply now
- Open Mercor's sports and lifestyle network with the button above. The cricket link now leads there.
- Upload your CV and confirm the country you work from. Make your cricket knowledge obvious: writing, coaching, playing, commentary, fantasy cricket or statistics.
- Do the AI interview. It takes about 20 minutes.
- Pass the background check to join the network.
- Wait for invitations. Mercor invites members to project listings that state the rate, hours and client, and the decision is made there. It can take a week or several months.
Tips for the live match work
- Watch the full match with a second screen ready. Questions and ratings happen in real time.
- Ask the questions a real fan would ask: scores, required run rates, player records and decisions such as DRS reviews.
- Check every AI answer against the live score and reliable records before you rate it.
- Write clear, specific comments. A rating with no reason helps no one.
