About the role
Join Sovrano AI's legal expert network. This is a waitlist for future AI training projects, paid up to $150 an hour, and your application is not tied to a specific project. Apply once, complete a short AI interview about your field, and we contact you directly when a project matches your background. AI labs need legal work that people who have practiced would stand behind. A model can produce plausible legal text easily. Getting it to reach a conclusion a lawyer would sign is the hard part, and it takes practitioners to do it.
This listing is a waitlist, not an open position. No project is attached to your application. Applying puts you in the network we draw from when a legal project opens. We ask for one thing: a short AI interview about your field, about 20 minutes, that you take once you have applied. We review applicants from time to time, check whether each profile fits the kind of projects we run, and reach out directly with the scope, hours and rate when there is a match. Timing depends on demand, so you may hear from us soon or only after a while, and we will not contact everyone on the list. You commit to nothing by applying.
Work varies by project. Depending on the project you might write contract and case scenarios in a specific jurisdiction, write the yes/no checklists a supervising lawyer would apply, review other lawyers' work, or grade AI output on legal research and drafting. Hours, scope, jurisdiction and rate are set per project and sent to you in writing before you start.
On a project you write realistic legal tasks and the deliverable an experienced lawyer would produce, review other experts' work against an acceptance checklist, and evaluate AI answers for errors in reasoning, authority and jurisdiction. Reviewers check everything, and you are paid for approved work.
