About the role
Darija Speakers Wanted: Voice Recording & Transcription (Remote, Paid)
JT AI Labs is building a high-quality Moroccan Arabic (Darija) speech dataset to help AI understand Darija as it's really spoken. We're looking for native Darija speakers to join two paid, fully remote missions: recording and transcription . You can do one or both.
🎙️ Mission 1: Voice Recording
Chat in Darija with a partner by exchanging WhatsApp voice notes , just like you would with a friend.
Pay: €22.25 per hour of your own validated audio
Format: voice notes of 5 to 60 seconds, sent back and forth with your partner in a WhatsApp group (you, your partner and our Project Lead)
Topics: anything you like (daily life, food, football, studies, travel…), as long as you share no personal information
Your partner: record with someone you know (friend, family member…), who will also need to join the project, or we'll match you with another participant
Flexibility: record whenever and wherever you want, on your phone
Volume: up to 1 hour of your own audio per person
✍️ Mission 2: Transcription
Transcribe short Darija voice notes into Arabic script on our annotation platform (Kili).
Pay: €28.90 per hour of audio transcribed and validated
How it works: each audio comes with an AI-generated draft to save you time. You listen, correct every word, and flag any problem (personal information, inaudible audio, non-Darija content).
Volume: up to 3 hours of audio per day, with no total limit as long as your quality is good
Flexibility: work from your computer, on your own schedule
Quality first: every transcription is reviewed by our QA team. Only validated work is paid, and transcribers who don't meet the quality bar leave the project.
✅ Who we're looking for
Native Darija speaker, 18 or older
For recording: a smartphone with WhatsApp
For transcription: confident writing Darija in Arabic script, a computer, a good internet connection, and a strong eye for detail …
