Handshake is looking for facial and maxillofacial trauma surgeons to support AI research through flexible, part-time contract work. This is not a traditional job. You’ll draw on your surgical training and hands-on experience in craniofacial and maxillofacial trauma, including facial fractures, soft tissue injuries, airway and orbital trauma, and reconstruction, to evaluate AI-generated content and provide feedback that helps AI reason like a practicing facial trauma surgeon. The Handshake AI program runs year-round, with project opportunities opening periodically across different areas of expertise.
This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity you can take on alongside your current role.
What You’ll Do
Use your surgical expertise to create expert-level tasks that today’s top AI models can’t solve, based on real clinical workflows such as trauma assessment, CT interpretation of facial fractures, operative planning, fixation and reconstruction decisions, and perioperative management
Review and evaluate AI-generated responses for clinical accuracy, patient safety, and alignment with current facial and maxillofacial trauma practice and guidelines
